🔒 Bills Tracker · Android App

Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters. Here's exactly how Bills Tracker handles your data.

Effective Date: September 27, 2026  ·  Policy version 2.0
1

Overview

Bills Tracker ("the App," "we," "our") is a free personal finance application developed by Mark V. and published on the Google Play Store. The App is designed to help individuals track recurring bills, manage budgets, and monitor account balances on their personal device.

This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, how it is used, and how it is protected. By installing and using Bills Tracker, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

🔒

The short version: Everything you enter in Bills Tracker (bills, amounts, accounts, budgets, and transactions) is stored only on your device. We never receive it, and it is never sent to any server. No account is required, and all bill tracking works offline. The App is free because it shows a banner ad from Google AdMob. AdMob collects some device and usage information to deliver ads, as explained in Section 6. It never receives your financial data.

2

Data We Collect

Your financial data: not collected

We (the developer) do not collect any personal or financial information. All data you enter into the App, including bill names, amounts, due dates, account balances, budget limits, notes, and transaction records, is:

  • Stored only on your device, in the App's local storage
  • Never sent to the developer or to any server, database, or third party by the App
  • Never linked to your identity or your Google account by the App
  • Never shared with the advertising service described below

The App does not include any analytics or crash-reporting tools of its own.

Data collected by the advertising service

The App displays a banner ad provided by Google AdMob. The Google Mobile Ads SDK built into the App automatically collects and shares the following data with Google for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention. This is the same information the App declares in the Data safety section of its Google Play listing.

Data typeWhat it includesPurpose
Approximate locationYour device's IP address, which may be used to estimate your general locationAdvertising, analytics, fraud prevention
App interactionsApp launches, taps, and ad viewsAdvertising, analytics, fraud prevention
DiagnosticsPerformance information such as app launch time, hang rate, and energy usageAdvertising, analytics, fraud prevention
Device or other IDsAndroid advertising ID and app set IDAdvertising, analytics, fraud prevention

This data is collected and processed by Google, not by the developer. It is encrypted in transit using TLS. See Section 6 for details and for how to limit it.

ℹ️

Export feature: The App offers an optional JSON data export. The file is created on your device and saved wherever you choose. It is never uploaded automatically. You control where you share or store this file.

3

Data Storage

All App data is stored in the App's private local storage (Android WebView localStorage) on your device. This means:

  • Data persists between App sessions on your device
  • Data is removed when you use the in-app "Clear all data" feature in Settings
  • Data is removed if you uninstall the App or clear the App's data through Android Settings
  • If Android's device backup is turned on for your phone, Android may include the App's data in your device backup to your Google account. This backup is managed by Android and your Google account, not by the App or the developer. You can control it under Android Settings → Google → Backup (the exact path varies by device).
⚠️

Important: Because data is stored locally, uninstalling the App or clearing its data will permanently delete your financial records unless you have exported a backup using the Export feature in Settings.

4

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information, and we never share the financial data you enter in the App with anyone.

The only data that leaves your device automatically is the advertising data described in Section 2, which the Google Mobile Ads SDK sends to Google in order to show ads. The only way your financial data leaves your device is if you export a backup and share the file yourself (for example, by email or cloud storage). That is entirely under your control.

  • Your financial data is never sent to the developer, advertisers, or data brokers
  • No data is sold
  • No data is sent to the developer's servers (the App has none)
  • Device and usage data is shared with Google only through the AdMob SDK, as described in Section 6
5

App Permissions

Bills Tracker uses the following Android permissions. Each one is used only for the purpose described:

Used by the App

  • POST_NOTIFICATIONS: Required on Android 13 and above to show reminders for upcoming, due, and overdue bills. Reminders are created entirely on your device from the bills you have entered. No notification data is sent anywhere.
  • SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM: Lets your daily bill reminder arrive at the time you chose in Settings. If this is not allowed, reminders still arrive, but the timing may be less precise.
  • RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: Restores your daily reminder schedule after your device restarts. It does not collect or send any data.
  • WAKE_LOCK and VIBRATE: Let reminders be delivered while the device is idle, and let the App vibrate for reminders and feedback.
  • INTERNET: Used to load the AdMob banner ad and to check Google Play for App updates. The App never uses internet access to send your financial data.
  • READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: Only requested on older Android versions (Android 12 and below, and Android 9 and below, respectively) for saving and opening backup files you choose. The App does not read any other files.

Added by the Google Mobile Ads SDK

  • ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Checks network connectivity before loading ads.
  • AD_ID (com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID): Allows the ads SDK to read your device's advertising ID for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention. You can reset or delete your advertising ID at any time (see Section 6).
  • ACCESS_ADSERVICES_AD_ID, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_ATTRIBUTION, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_TOPICS: Allow the ads SDK to use Android's Privacy Sandbox advertising APIs where your device supports them. You can manage these under Android Settings → Security & privacy → Ads privacy (the exact path varies by device).
  • FOREGROUND_SERVICE: Declared by a library the ads SDK depends on for scheduling background work. The App itself does not run a foreground service.
ℹ️

You can turn off notifications at any time in Android Settings → Apps → Bills Tracker → Notifications. This stops bill reminders but does not affect any other App feature.

Third-Party Services

Bills Tracker uses the following third-party services:

Google AdMob (Google LLC)
The App displays a banner ad powered by Google AdMob. The Google Mobile Ads SDK automatically collects and shares with Google the data listed in Section 2 (approximate location from IP address, app interactions, diagnostics, and device identifiers) for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention. This data is encrypted in transit.

How Google uses this information is described in Google's Privacy Policy and on Google's page about data from apps that use its services:

Consent in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland. If you use the App in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the App shows a consent message from Google's User Messaging Platform before loading ads. It asks whether Google and its ad partners may use your data for personalized ads. Ads are only requested after this step. You can review or change your choice at any time in the App under Settings → Privacy options. That option appears only where a consent choice applies.

You can limit ad tracking by resetting or deleting your advertising ID in Android Settings → Google → Ads (Android 12 and above), or by turning on Opt out of Ads Personalization on earlier Android versions. You can also manage ad personalization for your Google account at https://adssettings.google.com.

⚠️

Bills Tracker never passes your bills, amounts, accounts, budgets, or transactions to AdMob. The ads SDK only receives the device and usage signals described above.

Google Play In-App Updates (Google LLC)
When you check for updates, the App asks the Google Play Store whether a newer version is available and, if you agree, downloads it through Google Play. This check is handled by the Google Play Store app under Google's Privacy Policy. The App does not send any of your data as part of it.

No other third-party SDKs, analytics tools, or services are included in the App.

7

Children's Privacy

Bills Tracker is intended for users aged 13 and older. The App is a personal finance tool designed for adults and young adults managing household or personal finances.

We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information through this App, please contact us using the details in Section 10 and we will take appropriate action.

8

Your Rights & Data Control

Because your financial data is stored only on your device, you have complete and direct control over it at all times:

  • Access: All data you enter is visible within the App at all times
  • Export: Use Settings → Export data to save a full JSON backup of all your records
  • Delete: Use Settings → Clear all data to permanently delete all App data from your device
  • Uninstall: Uninstalling the App removes all stored App data from your device
  • Notification control: Turn bill reminders off in Android Settings → Apps → Bills Tracker → Notifications
  • Ad consent (EEA, UK, Switzerland): Review or change your ad consent choice in Settings → Privacy options
  • Advertising data: Reset or delete your advertising ID in Android Settings → Google → Ads. Requests about data Google holds from ads can be made to Google through your Google account's Data & privacy settings.

We do not hold a copy of your data on any server, so there is nothing for us to delete on our side. If you have questions about your data, contact us using the details in Section 10.

9

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App's features, applicable laws, or best practices. When we make material changes, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you through the App or the Google Play Store listing.

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.

The current version of this Privacy Policy is always available in the App under Settings → Privacy policy, at https://www.vuelvatech.com/billstracker/privacy.html, and from the App's Google Play Store listing.
